Square Enix's long-running franchise will hit stores this September.
Yes it's finally confirmed, Final Fantasy XV (formerly Final Fantasy
Versus) is the story of a young king sworn to defend the last crystal in the
world from the "hectic order" outside of his kingdom. It's a fight
between ancient and modern techonology, and the struggle of one king to protect
the old ways.
The game was first announced at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment
Expo (E3) through a conceptual CGI trailer. Between 2006 and 2013, when
it was re-revealed as Final Fantasy XV at that year's E3
Final Fantasy 15 will launch on September 30, 2016 publisher Square
Enix has announced. The date was revealed during the Uncovered: Final Fantasy
XV event, which is being held in Los Angeles.
After going quiet for a few years, Square Enix eventually
re-introduced Versus XIII as Final Fantasy 15 at E3 2013. The project had
evolved significantly and thus become a core, numbered entry in the series.
Final Fantasy 15 will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Although there hasn't been an official announcement of a PC version,
references to Steam and Windows 10 versions have been found.
Recently, Square Enix has released a number of Final Fantasy games
for the PC, including Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Final Fantasy 13, Final Fantasy
13-2, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13.
